Sheffield Wednesday boss Garry Monk was denied a winning return to St Andrew’s Stadium earlier this afternoon as the Owls drew 3-3 with Birmingham City.
There were six goals, an own goal, a penalty and most surprisingly a handshake between Monk and his former assistant Pep Clotet following a snub in their previous encounter.
But the player on the lips of the travelling Owls faithful has been skipper Tom Lees after his defence leaked three goals, including a 91st-minute equaliser from Scott Hogan.
Wednesday are now 11 points from the playoffs having held third-position only a few months ago. A run of one win in 11 matches has been a major contributor, you’d imagine.

The 29-year-old was described as a “clown” whilst a couple of fans referenced the fact that he got bullied by the Birmingham frontline.

Another member of the Owls faithful claimed that the centre-back must play like Italian legend Paolo Maldini in training as he simply isn’t doing it on the pitch when selected.
Others hinged on him not living up to his captain’s armband…
There were also plenty more wanting to see the south Yorkshire club get rid of Lees at the next opportunity.
One fan claimed he needed moving on in the summer as he was on a serious decline whilst another begged that they never see him play in the blue and white kit of Sheffield Wednesday ever again.
For away day veterans only: Can you name all of these defunct stadiums?
And in other news, Sheffield Wednesday were handed a HUGE boost this week….
